About Car Cruise For Cancer

Car Cruise for Cancer was founded in 2010 by me, Omar Salaymeh, who knows firsthand what it feels like to have a loved one battling with cancer. My grandmother was diagnosed with ‘Renal Cell Carcinoma’ (kidney cancer) back in 2007 and has been in treatment for the past three years. The cancer has spread through most of her body and is now affecting her respiratory system.

Update:She lost her battle with cancer on May 28th 2010 at 6:13 am 

Her late husband (my grandfather) was a car guy his whole life and helped me start my love for cars at a young age with his auto dealerships growing up. I thought it would be a nice idea to combine my passion for cars, and others alike to come together to make a difference in people’s lives doing what we love, driving our cars. We get behind the wheel of a vehicle everyday whether it’s to get somewhere or to enjoy the open road, if we can put this towards a better cause we can make a difference.
